Analysis of Improved EAP - SIM based Authentication Protocol
نویسنده
چکیده
Remote EAP-SIM authentication has an overwhelming impact on the authentication delay. RADIUS protocol can be used for local authentication which reduces authentication latency. However, in case of EAP-SIM authentication, where triplets are to be retrieved from a remote authentication gateway (AuC), this does not help much. An Improved EAP-SIM authentication method was proposed in [2]. In this paper, we are analyzing the proposed method and presenting the results. Our analysis concludes that, latency for authentication in this method significantly reduces by almost 60% as compared to remote authentication and 40% as compared to local authentication.

متن کاملA Measurement Study on IKEv2 Authentication Performance in Wireless Networks
This paper presents an experimental evaluation of the performance costs of a wide variety of authentication methods over IKEv2 in wireless networks. The studied methods are preshared keys (PSK), extensible authentication protocol (EAP) using MD5, SIM, TTLS-MD5, TLS, and PEAP-MSCHAPv2. For the EAP-based methods RADIUS is used as authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) server. Two net...
